Placement book
In order to prevent placement errors and subsequent
complaints, DIALOG checks whether an ad can be positioned and coloured
as requested by the advertiser as early on as the job capture stage. If
the position in question is already occupied, the person who captured
the job is immediately notified and has the option of selecting an
alternative position.
In this way, a binding agreement can be made on the ad position as soon
as the job is captured, even a long time in advance. Ad overlaps are
recognized early on and can be eliminated while the job is still being
captured. This ensures that the production process is not interrupted,
jobs are not lost and no extra costs are incurred.
Ad booking is connected directly with page planning. The ad positions
are thus transferred automatically to the edition and are positioned on
the planned editorial or ad pages by DIALOG.
Further benefits of the Placement book:
>> The positioned ads can be fixed
depending on user
permissions. This means that only those users with the required
permissions can delete an ad from a page.
>> Ad positions can be assigned to a fixed
position in the placement book.
>> Positioning is carried out
automatically based on the
section, the main classification, the page placement set, the relative
page number and the page position.
>> The placement book can also be opened
manually if
automated ad placement is not required or the placement needs to be
checked.
>> Restricted areas can be defined in the
template placement book.
>> DIALOG automatically inserts ad lines
into the pages
to separate ads from editorial content. Additional notes can also be
added, if required.
Ads that have not been handled using the placement book
(usually ads in columns) are made up in the free spaces of the planned
ad pages using automatic and suppressing ad make-up.
