Indexing
Archiving systems require that data is organised simply, quickly and flexibly. This is achieved using hierarchically structured keyword lists. Indexing is uncomplicated and requires little effort and time.
Articles and images are indexed either directly by the editor before archiving or retrospectively by an archivist. This can be carried out in the archive as well as in the DIALOG Production System.
The editor can search for keywords quickly and precisely by selecting a keyword list and making an entry in the preselection field. The keywords can then be assigned to the article or image without even a mouse click. Limiting the selection of keywords helps the editor determine the required keywords.
In this way, each section has a pre-allocated keyword list which can be easily changed by assigning the keywords. Of course, it is also possible to assign several keywords from more than one list.
To check that all mandatory fields have been filled in for the elements that are to be archived or already have been archived, the DIALOG search form can be used to search for images and articles that do not fulfil the archiving criteria. Archiving criteria are individually defined by the publisher.
