Ad make-up

As with page planning and production management, the DIALOG publishing system also fully integrates automatic and suppressing ad make-up. This powerful tool for full page production facilitates newspaper production and constitutes the basis for a universal digital workflow with regard to computer-to-plate (CTP). The entire production process is shortened and more reliable, which means there are fewer complaints.

As early on as the job capture stage, the DIALOG Placement Book can be used to determine whether an ad can be positioned and coloured as requested. If the requested position is already occupied, the person who captured the job is immediately notified and has the option of selecting an alternative position. The ad is immediately assigned to a page. The real work of ad make-up does not begin until space has been reserved for sections and classifications and page-determining ads have been positioned using the DIALOG Placement Book.

Ads can be made up as early on as the job capture stage. Ad make-up is either performed within the product (managed by write permissions) or via the page lists (partial products). The sequence and printability of colour ads is automatically taken into account during ad make-up. Afterwards, the pages are set to full measure and column lines and lines between the ads are inserted automatically.
