Branch offices
DIALOG offers various options for increasing performance and optimising bandwidth utilisation to external editorial staff. This means that multiple editorial or advertising workstations can be operated in branch offices that have a connection as slow as 64 K or 128 K without compromising performance.
Service servers, local servers or local caches accelerate the speed with which production documents are loaded and saved. Articles and pages can be saved asynchronously. Images can be transferred from a branch office to the central office using a predefined bandwidth.
Branch offices also have the option to work independently. The finished texts or finished pages are transferred to the central office together with the images. Images that have been captured and processed externally are integrated into the pages quickly and easily. When pages are transferred, the high-resolution images are sent automatically and electronically to the OPI server in the central office, so that they can be used for page exposure.
Freelancers can use their notebook computers as fully functional editorial workstations or they can access and search the database, and capture and edit articles via the Internet using the WebClient Editor.
