Production tracking

DIALOG’s integrated production tracking feature provides an overview – also in WYSIWYG format – of current production progress. The overview is global and visualises the production progress from the generation of the first page elements to exposure of the final page. Production tracking can be viewed from every DIALOG workstation.

The depth of integration makes it possible for the editorial, advertising and technical departments to work on the same product at the same time. This is managed with write permissions. Individual pages or pages that are grouped together can be opened. All page elements such as articles or even ads including their order details can be opened directly from the product or the page at any time (depending on the write permissions that have been assigned).

Production tracking updates automatically and therefore provides a graphical display of the current production status. The head of the service, for example, can clearly see the current status of individual articles, ads, images and pages at any time.

Because page elements are colour coded, it is possible to establish the processing status and completeness of a page at a glance. As soon as a page element’s status changes, the status colour on the page is automatically adjusted as well.

The complete integration of the editorial and planning system in DIALOG provides the ideal foundation for working with a newsdesk or newsroom concept – as already used by some of our customer publishers.

Grouping pages into clearly arranged page lists increases the working speed and allows work to be carried out across sections while overall responsibility for the entire product is still retained.

Alongside its own product planning and production control feature, DIALOG also offers standardised interfaces to external product planning systems such as PlanPag from PAPE & Partner Media GmbH (PPI).
