Layout

The DIALOG Editor is the perfect tool for fast and easy layouts. A page can be designed quickly and cleanly by dragging the desired article formats or template articles to size.

Articles found in the database are placed directly on the respective page from the query form using drag-and-drop operations. Text, titles or leaders can be placed in the individual text boxes of the selected article layout. The overset and underset are displayed, and text can be adapted to the sentence width at the touch of a button or, conversely, the height of the article can be adjusted to the text.

Smart guides are also available to assist with layout and design. Font changes, initials, subheadings, bookmarks, hyperlinks, outline fonts, frames and other design elements such as editorial classification headers, images, and graphics as well as audio and video files are easy to integrate. The different formatting versions of the text are displayed using media-neutral WYSIWYG views.

It is possible to layout and work on two or more different pages at the same time. Grouping pages into page lists allows work to be carried out for the entire product across sections.

Pages planned in Dialog can also be designed in other layout programs such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXpress. In this case, the page files of the layout program are managed in Dialog.
